Willamette Writers offers a variety of opportunities for volunteers, including our annual conference, our Books for Kids program, and our office.
Office volunteers answer phones, help with mailings, and do data entry during our office hours of Monday - Friday, from 10 am - 2 pm. Volunteers can work a few hours to coming in one day a week. Office volunteers answer phones, help with mailings, and help with registration. Volunteers at the conference help at registration, be room monitors for workshops, or help in the consult area. Books for Kids volunteers help set up book drives and deliver books during the holiday season. To get more information about volunteer positions, send an email to Willamette Writers. Nancy Hill is our 2008 conference volunteer coordinator this year. You can email her at wwvolunteercoordinator@gmail.com. Time restraints make it impossible for Nancy to answer individual emails. In mid-May she will send an email with more information and a questionnaire out to everyone who wants to volunteer. She will use the questionnaire to find out when you're available to volunteer and what assignments you'd like. She'll do her best to accomodate your preferences, but she needs to take in a number of factors when making assignments and cannot guarantee she can assign you to a particular area or workshop. She does promise to do her best, though, because she wants to make this a great experience for everyone. She will send assignments out by the end of June, which will give everyone a few weeks to complete the questionnaire and return it to her. Please only provide your name, that you want to volunteer, and the email contact you want Nancy to use for you when she sends out email messages. She will not record any other information in the first email (your preferred dates, etc) you send since she is using the questionnaire she's sending in May to organize that information. The email with the questionnaire will give you all the information you need about volunteering. Stay tuned.
